Display
The monochrome display is 5 inches across when measured diagonally, and displays in 16 grayscale levels. The screen resolution is 480 x 480 pixels. The screen and keypad are backlit with an amber LED.
Fish Finder
The dual frequency SeaCharter 480DF includes a dual frequency Skimmer transducer with 35° and 12° cone angles. It transmits acoustic waves at 50 and 200 kHz respectively. The maximum transmission power is 1500 W peak to peak or 188 W RMS which achieves a maximum depth of 1500 feet or 457 m on low-frequency transmissions.
Fish Finder Features
Automatic functions like automatic ranging, also bottom tracking, and zoom bottom tracking ease navigational stress. Use the split screen to easily analyze features under the boat. A water temperature sensor is built into the transducer. A speed sensor is also included with the standard package. The usual alarms are built in like audible alarms for deepwater, shallow water and fish activity.
GPS Receiver
The external EGC-12W GPS receiver antenna scans 12 channels in parallel as well as WAAS. An optional DGPS receiver may be installed on this model.
Memory
256 MB of mapping memory is built in to accept third-party maps. Third party or custom maps may be loaded through MMC data cards or SD data cards. Built-in memory also stores sonar records and GPS data, and user settings are stored on power down.

GPS Features
Position updates occur every second. Up to 1000 waypoints and 1000 event's can be saved. Up to 100 routes and 10 plot trails can be saved. GPS zoom may be viewed in 39 different ranges, from 4000 miles down to 0.02 miles.
Installation
Required input voltage is 10 to 15 V DC. The unit size is 5.4 inches high by 6.9 inches wide by 3.4 inches deep. The case is sealed and waterproof and suitable for salt water use.
