Eagle SeaCharter 640C DF Fish Finder GPS Dual Frequency Sonar Plus Color GPSThe Eagle SeaCharter 640c DF is designed for saltwater or downrigger use which take advantage of the low frequency 50 kHz transmission and a maximum depth penetration to 1500 feet. The GPS function comes with a built-in map and can be upgraded to highly detailed custom maps through memory cards. A very versatile sonar GPS chart plotter. The relevant part number is #123-29.
Display The 5 inch display projects 256 colors on a TFT LCD screen which supports 640 pixels by 480 pixels resolution. This high definition fishfinder screen allows programmable viewing preferences. Adjust the backlight over several different settings for best nighttime performance. The keypad is backlit also.
Fish Finder This is a dual frequency fishfinder that operates at 50 and 200 kHz. Cone angle coverage is 35° and 12° respectively. Maximum depth of 1500 feet or 457 m is achieved at the low frequency 50 kHz and 35° cone angle. This requires power output of 4000 W peak-to-peak or 500 W RMS. Of course, maximum depth is a function of water conditions, sonar installation, and sonar settings.
Fish Finder Features Sonar readings continuously display fish activity and bottom contours and can be set for automatic ranging to simplify navigational chores. The unit constantly tracks bottom or sections of the water column manually. A zoomed sonar view or GPS maps can be observed using split screen mode. A surface water temperature sensor is built into the transducer so that temperature readings can be displayed.
GPS Receiver The external antenna EGC – 12w and receiver use 12 parallel channels to track orbiting GPS satellites and with inbuilt WAAS capability to further enhance coordinate accuracy.
Memory Up to 1 GB of mapping memory is available to upload maps or store information. Maps can be imported through an MMC card or SD card. Sonar records and sonar settings can be stored in built-in memory for later access.
Built In Maps The standard Eagle background map shows medium detail US maps which include 60,000 navigational aid points, and 10,000 wrecks or obstructions.
GPS Features The GPS receiver updates coordinates every second. 1000 waypoints, 1000 event markers, 100 routes, and 10 plot trails can be saved. Zoom in to the map to a detail of 0.02 miles all the way from 4000 miles in 40 range increments. Audible alerts can be set for destination arrival, off course indication, and anchor settings.
Installation A voltage of 10 to 15 V DC is required to power the unit. The unit size is 5.4 inches high by 6.9 inches wide by 3.4 inches deep. This is a sealed waterproof device ready for saltwater use.
