Display
The display diagonal on the Garmin fish finder 340C is 5.0 inches. This is a 4 inch high by 3 inch wide display. It is a 16-bit color TFT with 256 colors. The resolution is 234 horizontal pixels by 320 vertical pixels. Brightness is adjustable on this unit.

Fish Finder
Garmin fish finders like the 340C have either a dual beam or dual frequency option. The primary difference is that a dual beam transducer has two ceramic elements often operating at a single frequency. This means that the dual beam transducer has two elements usually built in to a single transducer housing.

Dual frequency units operate at two frequencies often with a single ceramic. The dual frequency version is recommended in saltwater because it has a lower transmission frequency of 50 kHz, while the dual beam version is recommended for freshwater with its lowest frequency at 80 kHz.

The Garmin Fishfinder 340C is capable of dual frequency or dual beam configuration depending on the transducer package. The online store you purchase your package from will specify either by part number or description whether to package is a dual beam or dual frequency one.

Features
340C has a simulator mode where you can practice operations before going on the water and will operate in simulator mode with the transducer disconnected. Other feature highlights include water temperature readings, drift alarm, auto-gain adjust, round flasher display, battery voltage indicator, and NMEA data output.

Installation
The power source specified is 10 to 33 V DC. Power usage is specified at 17 W max at 10 V DC or 15 W at 13.8 V DC. This is a plastic unit and waterproof to IEC 529 or IPX7 standards. The unit is 6.2 inches high by 6.3 inches wide by 3.1 inches deep. Read manual for installation instructions.

Standard package Fishfinder 340C, without transducer product number 010-00505-00. The standard package includes a tilt swivel mount, the six-foot data power cable, the owner's manual, a quick reference guide, a flush mount template, protective cover, and a flush mount hardware kit.

Part number 010-00505-01 includes the standard package above and includes the dual beam transom mount/trolling motor transducer for depth and temperature readings and includes a 30 foot cable. The cone angle of the dual beam is 14° and 45°.

Part number 010-00505-02 includes the standard package above and the dual frequency transom mount transducer for depth and temperature readings and a 30 foot cable.

Part number 010-00505-03 includes the standard package above, the 200/50 kHz dual frequency transom mount transducer with depth and temperature readings and 30 foot cable. It also includes world wide language support.

Optional Extras
It is also possible to purchase separate speed sensors, quick release flush mount kits, CANet TM connection kit, and optional transducers.
