The Humminbird PiranhaMax 240 stands out from the 200 series Humminbird fish finders because it uses a tri-beam sonar, has a greater depth capability, and an eight level grayscale display.

Display
The PirhanaMax 240 diagonal display size is 4 inches. The resolution is 240 vertical pixels and 160 horizontal pixels with eight levels of grayscale. It has three levels of back lighting.

Fish Finder
The Humminbird 240 sonar has a power output of 200 W RMS and 1600 W peak to peak power. This gives a depth capability of 800 feet. As mentioned, this is a three beam unit which results in a sonar coverage of 90°. High-frequency coverage is 20° at 200 kHz, the remaining two beams provide 35° of coverage each at 45 kHz getting a total of 90° coverage. Sonar coverage is taken at -10 DB power.

Features
Easy to see digital characters. A depth alarm and fish alarm can be set. Zoom and gain sensitivity controls are built in. This unit uses an easy-on easy-off mounting mechanism. The transducer is included.

Installation
Power input specifications are 10 to 20 V DC. The unit size is 4 3/8 inches wide by 6 1/8 inches high by 3 1/4 inches deep.
