Garmin GPS 152 GPS Basic Marine GPS Unit The Garmin GPS 152 is a solid choice for a basic GPS unit. Features and data are displayed on a monochrome screen. Although not equipped with all the bells and whistles of more expensive GPS units, navigational and positioning information can be accurate to 5 m or less when a differential antenna is installed. The USA version product number with external antenna is 010-00227-00, the USA version with internal antenna and uses product number 010-00227-10.
GPS The receiver is differential ready and can receive on up to 12 parallel channels, and is WAAS capable. The antenna is mounted externally.
Display The monochrome display is 4 inches when measured diagonally, and has four shades of gray scale and an adjustable backlight. The screen resolution is 160 x 100 pixels.
Memory 1 MB of points of interest may be uploaded to the device.
Waypoints and Routes 500 waypoints can be entered. 20 routes can be stored. 10 tracks can be saved.
More Features Interfaces include inputs from NMEA 0183. Alarms include an anchor drift, destination arrival, off course, and proximity to waypoints. Trip details can be calculated in a number of different ways, e.g. average time, stopped time, etc.
Installation The required power source 10 to 40 V DC and power usage is at 5 W maximum at 10 V DC. The size of the unit is 5 inches wide by 4.9 inches high by 2.5 inches deep. It weighs less than 1 pound. The casing is waterproof to IPX7. |
